Południowy Koncern Energetyczny SA is now a part of Tauron PE Capital Group. Capital groups are a business phenomenon present in all leading world economies. The purpose of their creation is, above all, to facilitate the business operation of the grouped companies but also reinforcement of their market position and competitiveness. The scale effect is used when acting in accordance with the rule – it is easier, safer and stronger while you are in a group.

On October 28, the Extraordinary Assembly of PKE SA Shareholders passed a resolution on our company accession to the Tauron Group simultaneously entering a record in the Company Charter that the company operation goal is the execution of activities in accordance with the Tauron Group strategy which determines the Tauron Group interest. This decision is synonymous with the approval of the Tauron Group Code – an organizational act regulating internal relationships. Uniform standards and action procedures are implemented in the companies and the cooperation rules are to be systemized.

As of November 1, on the level of Tauron company there was a centralization of the Scheduling Coordinator. Some of our colleagues were transferred to work for Tauron PE. The fuel purchasing department will also undergo centralization on the level of Tauron PE as of the beginning of the next year.

The implemented business model will finally settle the internal rules of electrical energy trade. Therefore, the business character of our company will be altered. We will be in charge of the proper maintenance of the power engineering machines, generation of electrical energy and heat as well as the preparation and execution of investments. Thus, we need to adjust our organization to the new challenges. Only this way will we be able to ensure a chance for continuous company value increase and full energy safety. Obviously, giving up past habits and thinking stereotypes will not be equally easy for everyone; yet in present days there is no other way. It is worth recalling that this very manner of the Polish power sector development path was initiated by no one else but us 10 years ago while setting up Południowy Koncern Energetyczny. Nowadays we already think of the European energy market.
