On June 2, Laziska and Halemba Power Plants juniors assembled in Ruda Śląska National Defense League shooting range during the athletic meeting for the shooting tournament organized as part of the Children’s Day celebrations.
The shooting was carried out with the sport rifles in the distance of 50 meters. The shooting positions provided efficient and calm shooting. The attendance was high which increased the level of excitement. The competitors displayed similar level of skills and the age differences did cause any obstacles. The shooting results best reflected the above as in many a case the results varied by only few points. The umpire was forced to compare and evaluate the bullet holes because the results given in points were equal. The juniors were supported and applauded by their parents who paced nervously keeping their gingers crossed when their offspring made holes in the target with sniper’s accuracy.
The battle was fierce and the tournament temperature rose with each change of the targets. Each change of the competitors taking up the shooting positions raised the heart beats of the young sportsmen. The competitors waited for their turn with poker faces showing deep concentration at the rest kept their fingers crossed. For many of them it was the first time they has a contact with weapons.
Many fans of computer shooting games had a chance to check personally what it is like to be a sniper at least for a moment. Having used their ammunition, the young snipers admitted the shooting is not as easy as in popular games. Though there were no losers in the tournament, the best competitors were awarded honorary prizes and medals. Adam Pyta from Łaziska took the first place in the tournament; the second place was taken by the winner’s friend Adam Pluta. The second runner-up was Jarosław Frei from Halemba who bravely represented his father’s place of work.
Let’s remind you that the first shooting tournament took place on June 2, 2009 as part of the Children’s Day celebrations. Last year the tournament was organized by the National Defense League under the auspices of Halemba and Łaziska Power Plants and all the prizes were sponsored by PKE SA. The sponsors did not let our young competitors this time as well. The trophies and the ammunition were sponsored by the National Defense League in Ruda Śląska.
