This year’s repair campaign is to follow the already approved schedule. Four power blocks, in Jaworzno III, Łaziska, Siersza and Łagisza power plants, will undergo major repairs, just like the burner in the Power Plant Blachownia will.
Aside from major repairs, 15 medium level repairs are planned with regard to basic production infrastructure. The total cost of repair expenditures will be similar to that incurred in 2007. Presently, tender procedures are in progress with regard to most tasks, in accordance with the Public Procurements Law.
The repair campaign started very early. First activities began on 2 January in Block No. 5 in the Power Plant Łagisza. This is the most important repair in this year’s campaign. It will be completed by 30 June. Aside from the extensive scope of work regarding the burner and the machine hall, the flue gas outflow from burner No. 5 will be connected to the desulphurisation installation existing for Blocks No. 6 and 7. This will allow for desulphuring the outflow from burner No. 5 and thus extend its operation till 2016.
Similar to the past year, in the Power Plant Łaziska, we will carry out the modernisation of heat exchanger GAVO1 in the flue gas desulphurisation installation in the Blocks Nos. 9 and 10. This is an important task, because incorrect operation of the exchanger prevents desulphuring the flue gases from Blocks Nos. 9 and 10, thus excluding those blocks from operation.
Aside from repairs, we will also carry out certain investments. This year will witness the completion of long-term investment tasks subsidised by structural funds. Their total value equals approximately PLN 218 mn. The most important undertakings are: modernisation of flue gas desulphurisation installation – construction of the third desulphurisation line in the Power Plant Jaworzno III, construction of the slag tank in the Power Plant Jaworzno III, integration of the Block No. 5 into the existing flue gas desulphurisation installation in the Power Plant Łagisza, modernisation of the cooling system and reduction of noise emission in the Power Plant Łaziska as well as the completion of investments aimed at obtaining the integrated permit in the Power Plant Siersza.
The completion of those tasks is planned to take place at the end of June, except for the construction of the slag tank in Jaworzno III, which should be finalised in October.
Once the above-mentioned tasks are completed, we will receive a subsidy from structural funds in the amount exceeding PLN 50 mn.
