Power Competition – the Final!

Power safety and ecological safety were the main topics of the 3rd National Power Competition organized by Liceum Ogólnoskształcące nr 3 (High School no 3) in Jaworzno and the Board for Municipal Estate.

Power and Persistence Change Everything – it was the catchphrase of this year’s edition. The following high school students were awarded by the jury: Maria Fiałkowska representing Liceum Ogólnokształcące no 1 in Prudnik – 1st place, Anna Miś representing Liceum Ogólnokształcące no 3 and Marta Budak representing Zespół Szkół Ponadgimnazjalnych nr 3 in Jaworzno – 2nd place (ex aequo) and Rafał Wieczorek representing Liceum Ogólnokształcące no 2 in Jaworzno and Paweł Woźnica representing Zespoł Szkół Ponadgimnazjalnych no 3 in Jaworzno – 3rd place (ex aequo). Renewable energy sources as the power safety element were the most popular subject in this age group.

The following higher school students were awarded: Michał Kumor representing Akademia Górniczo Hutnicza (University of Science and Technology) in Krakow for the study ‘Coal Gasification – a Chance for the Clean Tomorrow’ – 1st place, Radosław Sobczak representing Opole University and Opole University of Technology for the study ‘Power Safety as the Power Policy Goal’ and Marcin Łapa representing Akademia Górniczo - Hutnicza in Krakow (University of Science and Technology) for the study ‘Power Safety via Power Efficiency’ – 2nd place (ex aequo) and Agnieszka Kardasz representing Katolicki Uniwersytet Lubelski for the study ‘Renewable Energy Sources as the Power Safety Element’ and Mateusz Wrona representing the Silesian University for the study „Power Policy Implementation Methods with Regard to National Power Safety’ – 3rd place (ex aequo).

Mariusz Rechul – Vice chairman of PKE Management Board presented the awards to the winners. Professor Jacek Malko of Wrocław University of Technology presided the jury.
