TGPE General Meeting and Elections were held on June 10, in Zawada Pilicka.
The key point of the General Meeting Agenda was the election of the new TGPE Management Board for the next tenure. By means of the secret ballot the following persons were voted the new Board members: Katarzyna Muszkat, Jerzy Chachuła, Roman Walkowiak, Krzysztof Zborowski and Waldemar Szulc. Jan Kurp was again elected the Society Management Board Chairman.
The Auditing Committee members were also appointed. Franciszek Wołodźko was voted the committee head and the remaining members are: Henryk Tymowski – the Secretary, Eugeniusz Bilkowski, Jerzy Kondratowicz and Ireneusz Łapiński - the Committee members.
The Meeting was opened by the Chairman Jan Kurp. Mister Kurp thanked all members for the active participation in TGPE undertakings, he summarized the Society operations of the previous year and presented the Board’s report on the Society activities. The financial statement for the turnover year 2009 and the statement assessment carried out by the chartered auditor were presented by TGPE office director Sławomir Krystek. The Auditing Committee gave the positive evaluation of the Management Board activities in the turnover year 2009. During the sitting there was also a decision made on accepting new ordinary members. The Society grew by 33 persons. The Society operation schedule as well as the 2010 budget were also approved during the meeting.
Economic Society Polish Power Plants was established in 1990 as an association operating in the field of electrical energy generation. Year by year, the Society developed its activities supporting all member power plants becoming a highly renowned consultative organization with regard to the power sector legislative regulations to be introduced.
Currently, within the framework of the TGPE activities there are many teams and work groups set up working on the projects concerning changes in Polish acts and on the implementation of EU directives in our conditions. The most crucial areas are, among others: emission allowances auctions, allocation of free emission allowances, national investment plan, CCS demonstration projects criteria and selection methods, renewable energy sources innovation technologies, white certificate system, implementation of Industrial Emission Directive, primary methods NOx emission reduction, developing proposals concerning amendments to the ordinance on the work organization in the scope of the ordering party liabilities.
At present, the Society comprises 112 ordinary members, all of them are power engineers with significant managing experience and in-depth knowledge of the industry. 12 base-load power plants are the supporting members the total installed capacity of which amounts to over 71% of the National Power System.
