On May 17th, in the Power Station II included in the Power Station Jaworzno III major repairs of the block 2 started. It is the first of this type major repair from the moment of starting the unit in 1999. The main executors are companies: ZRE Katowice, Alstom Power, Foster Wheeler, PURE Jaworzno III, Jarem and Elektrobudowa Katowice. A part of works concerning Control and Measuring Fixtures and Automatics (CMFA) as well as electric protections are done by the power station own team workers.

On the basis of the experience and advice gathered during the repairs of a fluidal boiler CFB 260 done until now, the range of the repairs involves, most of all: padding of eroded radiant tubes of the furnace chamber, the brickwork repair, the separator plunger pipe repair as well as air heater pipes repair. The devices as well as boiler helping installations, such as coal and ash feeders, coal breaker, raking device, a by boiler sludge plant and sorbing agent feeding repairs are also being performed. On the basis of the results of feeding water pump inspection the main pumps of HGC 5/10 type repairs have been planned. Due to the range of works as well as their quality assurance, the repair was conducted at the producer’s - in KSB company in Germany. The pumps have been delivered back to the power station in the scheduled time.

For the first time since the moment of putting the unit into commission in Jaworzno, the frames of the generator type 50 WX – 18Z – 059 and of the turbine 13CK70 have been opened. The following have been conducted: turbine overflowing system as well as oil and regulation systems repairs, the main inspection of a generator as well as its diagnostic examination, electric part and CMFA repairs. The generator’s rotor has been mended in Alstom Power in Wrocław.

During the turbine repair, after verification of the elements, it is necessary to perform some extra work connected with the repair of guide ring tightening surfaces no 21 – 24, regulated shield (diaphragm) and increase the number of the exchanged wedges in the generator’s stator.

At the same time the repair of the main and thermal condensates as well as cooling water pumps are being performed, together with the heat exchanger, heaters and fixture inspection. Except for the block 2, works concerning the repair of devices and installation of sludge preparation and feeding are being conducted.

The finishing assembly works of a turbogenerator lasted in July and additionally motion trials of particular devices were performed.
