On May 28th, Jaworzno councilors paid a visit in Jaworzno III Power Plant – Power Plant II. Members of the City Development and Unemployment Prevention Committee and members of other committees were present.
The meeting was held to inform the guests about the investment plans which will be executed by Południowy Koncern Energetyczny on site of Jaworzno III Power Plant. These long-term plans are related to the necessity of undertaking a number of decisions by the city authorities.
After the presentation of Tauron Group given by Kazimierz Szynol, there was a presentation on the latest investment, namely, the circulating, fluidized-bed biomass-fired boiler. The works have been already commenced as the construction site is being prepared. Eugeniusz Białoń who gave the presentation also presented the next planned investment – the construction of the large boiler with supercritical parameters.
Jaworzno city councilors were also filled in concerning the plans of ecological investments like for example the retrofit of the biomass-cofiring installations in boilers 1 and 2 in Power Plant II and the adjustment works on boiler OP – 650k on boilers 1 – 6 in order to reduce the nitrogen oxides emission in Power Plant III. The guests also learnt about the certificated granted to the power plant – ISO and EMAS.
With regard to all the listed investments, Teobald Jałyński – head of the City Council Town-planning and Architecture Department discussed the local land utilization plan: ‘Wojska Polskiego – Power Plant”, „Byczyna”, „ Sportowa Housing Estate” and „Podłęże – forest’. The issue concern crucial undertakings such as the demolition of the Awaryjne Housing Estate and the construction of a new one in the vicinity of Sportowa Street on site of former Power Plant I and the build-up of the 220 kV switching station in Jaworzno-Byczyna. Councilors from the City Development and Unemployment Prevention Committee by means of voting approved of the presented land utilization plans.
During the discussion initiated after the presentations the city councilors asked questions about the investment value, new working places with respect to the investments. The allowances trade issues were also raised. They also emphasized the chance the investments bring forward to many Jaworzno-based companies as these companies will be contracted for the investment plan execution.
The meeting ended with the plant manager’s invitation to visit the plant site. Mirosław Żbik showed the guests all the locations where new facilities will be erected. The meeting, in which Stanisław Tokarski – Vice chairman of Tauron Polska Energia Management Board- also participated, was without a doubt highly beneficial for all parties involved. All the participants agreed such meetings should be held on regular basis.
On May 31, councilors, participating in Jaworzno City council session, passed a resolution on the local land utilization plans taking into account the build-up of Power Plant II, construction of 400 kV line as well as the construction of the housing estate located at Sportowa Street.
