TAURON Wytwarzanie S.A. is part of the TAURON Polska Energia SA holding; the company's share in the national electrical energy market is 14%, and 16% in the local heat production market.
14th Indoor Football Championships of Poland, the last all Poland sportive events this year, were held in Chodziez from 11th to 14th December. The Championships were won by the best Southern Poland Power Industry footballers – representation of the Laziska Power Plant.
In the qualifying round, Laziska team had the following scores: 2:1 against Lodz Power Distribution Company, 3:1 against Enea Operator Poznan Distribution Division, 6:0 against Enea Operator Bydgoszcz Distribution Division, 3:2 against PGE Warsaw Site Distribution, 2:2 against Energa Gdansk Division and 4:0 against Lodz Site Power Company. The team qualified to semi-finals from the first place and won decisively 4:0 against Enea Operator Poznan Distribution Division. In the finals, the team played against Lodz Power Distribution Company and Laziska team beat them again (3:0). This way Laziska Power Plant took revenge for the defeat (2:2, penalty shoots 2:3) in the finals of 4th Power Industry Olympic Games held in Katowice in August.
The team captain Ireneusz Dyrska was handed an impressive trophy, diploma and awards for the team by the City of Chodziez Mayor Jacek Bursz.
Looking back, one can say that year 2008 belonged to footballers representing the Southern Poland Power Company Laziska Power Plant. The following successes are the best proof - 1st places in: Poland’s Football Tournament for Old boys organized to celebrate 45th anniversary of Lagisza Power Plant, 4th Southern Poland Power Company Indoor Football Championships, Lagisza Power Plant Managing Director Cup Football Tournament, Communal, Power and Gas Industry Companies Championships of Poland, 14th Indoor Football Championships of Poland; second place in: 4th Power Industry Olympic Games and third place in the 3rd the Southern Poland Power Company Chairman Cup Indoor Football Tournament.
What is more, Laziska Power Plant football players have played in the First Recreational Business League where leading teams from our region participate. This year Laziska footballers are on the right track to win the league. Currently, they lead the ranking and there are only few rounds till the end of season.
