2010.03.20

In its almost 50-year, Łagisza Power Plant witnessed one of its former employees to celebrate 100th birthday. Józef Nemś was born on January 14, 1910.

He was the eldest of five children and after the premature death of his parents he had to start providing for and taking care of his younger brothers. He started working in the brick-yard, later he worked for the fire brigade and in 1961 he commenced his work for Energomontaż Południe during the construction of Łagisza Power Plant. After the installation commissioning, he became the plant worker. He worked as the primary water pump operator on the ash storage yard until 1979 when he retired. The distinguished jubilarian deeply enjoys meeting his family – three children, seven grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. He is very fit, he moves on his own, shaves himself and can even cook. He has an excellent memory and good knowledge of current political situation. He watches the national and local news on TV and likes watching quiz shows.

On account of such a great jubilee, Józef Nemś was visited by Jan Rogóż, Managing Director of Łagisza Power Plant who wished the jubilarian good health and further jubilees.
