The Chapter of the 4th edition of the National Ecology Contest Environment Friendly has nominated Siersza Power Plant to the final in the category Commendable Technology- for the production technology of a new generation of materials used in various branches of industry with the use of process waste of PKE Siersza Power Plant in Trzebinia and in the category of Commendable Product - for the use of process waste to start production of a new generation of materials used in various branches of industry.

Starting production in line with the nominated technologies required changing the method of waste management. The installations were built in the Plant i.e. the place where waste originates from, which makes it possible to deliver not the waste but the final product to customers. Currently, emulsifier and stabilizer are used mainly to fill the abandoned workings and exploitation cavens in the excavations, to fill the troughs and in fire-protection. Recent studies have shown that the stabilizer has very good sealing properties and, after adding ashes from the circulating fluidized bed boilers, it is a perfect material for making road foundations, sealing shafts and slopes.
