    When we decided to erect a cutting-edge power block in the Southern Poland Power Company Plc. Lagisza Power Plant there were unfavourable voices heard. Poland has got such a surfeit of installed power and so good a power industry that there is no point in carrying out such costly investments.

    • Clarifier for Jaworzno III Power Plant Ready

      Works on the slag clarifier in the Southern Poland Power Company Jaworzno III Power Plant are finished. The pace of works is best shown by the fact that in February 2008 the land lot was empty and now there is a big building consisting of the following chambers: settling, clarifying and return water as well as two pump stations (for drainage and return water).

      Mister Chairman, why is Bielsko-Biala so important for the Southern Poland Power Company Plc.? Of course, I think of the new power block EC-1 which is currently widely discussed about.

      The development of Clean Coal Technologies, allowing Polish power industry to still base on this fuel, caused the situation in which nobody speaks about the necessity to close down the mines any longer.

    We have heaved a sigh of relief

    Poland is content with the Brussels summit outcomes concerning the climate-energy packet. Our delegation achieved the most crucial thing, namely, the decision on this packet will be made in December this year yet it will not be taken by the member states’ Ministers of Environment in which case the so-called qualified majority is needed to accept the decision unfavourable for Poland but by the EU leaders during the next summit.
