Flue Gas DeNOxing in Łaziska Power Plant

2011.02.11
Project entitled Construction of flue gas deNOxing plant and 200 MW power units retrofitting was commenced in PKE SA Łaziska Power Plant as part of the pollutant emission reduction program.
The company signed a contract for the OP 650k boilers retrofit aiming at the NOx emission reduction with Consortium Strabag Sp. z o.o. and Strabag A.G. on January 24th, 2011.

The project objective is to equip four power units in Łaziska Power Plant (units from 9 to 12) with deNOxing installations. The investment execution results from the requirements stipulated in the Accession Treaty and the LCP Directive (2001/80/WE). Once the requirements are met, the power units will be operated beyond 2017. NOx, SO2 and CO2 emission reduction is one of the priorities stipulated in the Tauron Group corporate strategy for the Generation Area.
The project, commenced in 2011, will be completed in 2014 and its cost will total over PLN 93 million.
Due to the retrofits we will considerably reduce the power plant impact on the natural environment , says Stanisław Tokarski - PKE SA Chairman. What is more, alongside the deNOxing installation construction there will be modernization works carried out so as to ensure safe units operation with high availability as long as till 2027.
