Foundation of the Południowy Koncern Energetyczny S.A.

Południowy Koncern Energetyczny S.A. was established on the 24^th of May 2000 in Jaworzno.

The following companies were incorporated into the Połudnowy Koncern Energetyczny S.A.:

• TAURON Wytwarzanie S.A. Elektrownia “Jaworzno III” SA (Power Plant Jaworzno III),
• TAURON Wytwarzanie S.A. Elektrownia “Łaziska” SA (Power Plant Łaziska),
• TAURON Wytwarzanie S.A. Elektrownia “Siersza” SA (Power Plant Siersza),
• TAURON Wytwarzanie S.A. Elektrownia “Łagisza” SA (Power Plant Łagisza),
• TAURON Wytwarzanie S.A. Elektrownia “Halemba” SA (Power Plant Halemba).

The company was incorporated on the 1^st of June 2000 through registration in the trade register as entry RHB 17831 kept by the Regional Court in Katowice, 8^th Department for Business and Registration. On the 21^st of March 2001 according to the decision of the Regional Court in Katowice, Business Department of the National Court Register, the company was entered in the National Court Register as entry number 0000003157.

Share in the markets

TAURON Wytwarzanie S.A. is at present one of the largest power industry companies in Poland. The company’s share in the national production of electrical energy is around 17% and around 16% in heat production for the local market. Apart from the above mentioned power plants, TAURON Wytwarzanie S.A. today includes the following: Blachownia Power Plant, Katowice Combined Heat and Power Plant and Bielsko-Biała Group of Combined Heat and Power Plants.

The core business activity of TAURON Wytwarzanie S.A. includes generation of electrical energy. In addition, it is also active in the transmission and distribution of electrical energy, as well as, the production and distribution of heat.
