Siersza Power Plant in Trzebinia,
being a part of PKE since 2001, is located in the north – western part of Małopolska region in the area of Trzebinia town.
The power plant was built in the years 1962 – 1970 as a system power plant with six units using coal as fuel and an installed capacity of 740 MW. The power plant supplies the national energy grid at 110 kV and 220 kV voltages. Heat produced in the power plant is distributed to the local market.
Specific technical guidelines and requirements and capacity rehabilitation that extend the operation of the power plant for the next 20 years, were taken into consideration.
Siersza Power Plant in Trzebinia is the first power plant in Poland to be certified for having an Environment Management System in line with ISO 14001 in electrical energy and heat production category.
In 2001 Siersza Power Plant was awarded the “House of Fame of Polish Ecology”. This award is an honour for Polish firms, which have developed and implemented the environmental management system in accordance with international standards.
