The Southern Poland Power Company PKE closer and closer to poligeneration

The Southern Poland Power Company (Południowy Koncern Energetyczny SA) and Zakłady Azotowe Kędzierzyn SA seated in Kędzierzyn-Koźle, Poland signed a letter of intent for building a poligeneration plant.

On behalf of the PKE SA Management Board the letter was signed by Mr. Jan Kurp, and on behalf of ZAK SA Management Board by Mr. Krzysztof Jałosiński. The document was signed on October 2nd during Power Industry Exhibition Silesia Power Meeting Expo Silesia fair in Sosnowiec combined with a conference on issues relating to the industrial utilization of clean power generation technologies taking place at Expo Silesia Fair. The letter of intent was signed in the presence of professor Jerzy Buzek, who expressed his wholehearted approval for the actions of the signatories.

Both parties declare their cooperation in the purpose of commencing the erection of a future modern poligeneration plant generating electricity, heat and .synthesis gas for chemical industry. Its main purpose will be replacing the so-far existing power economy of Zakłady Azotowe Kędzierzyn and used generation units with a common, modern power generation complex localized in Kędzierzyn-Koźle. The implementation of the planned enterprise will contribute to power generation safety of the industrial complex Kędzierzyn - Blachownia as well as constitute the basis for the erection of a zero emission power plant.
