Południowy Koncern Energetyczny, Kompania Węglowa and Węglokoks signed the letter of intent starting the procedure which may lead to transfer of Bolesław Śmiały mine from Kompania Węglowa to Południowy Koncern Węglowy, a company of our PKE Group.
9 May
The Minister of Treasury – in implementation of the “Programme for Electric Energy Sector” – contributed the shares of PKE, Enion, EnergiaPro and Elektrownia Stalowa Wola to Energetyka Południe.
11 May
The process of certification of the Integrated Management System in PKE for compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001and PN-N-18001 standards has completed. The crowning event was the official handing of certificates in Centrum Szkolenia Kadr PKE in Jaworzno.
14 June
In Bełchatów, the General Reporting and Election Assembly of Towarzystwo Gospodarcze Polskie Elektrownie. [Economic Society of Polish Powerplants] was held. The President Jan Kurp has been again – for the fourth time – elected the head of the organisation.
26 June
The General Meeting of Shareholders of PKE has been convened, during which the financial statements and the Management Board’s report on activities in 2006 were approved.
1 July
The Polish electric energy market has been officially liberated – now individual clients are entitled to change their supplier as well.
6 July
The Supervisory Board of PKE selected new executive committee in the persons of: Chairman – Filip Grzegorczyk, Deputy Chairman – Ireneusz Komoszyński, Secretary - Marian Kasperczyk.
18 July
In Elektrownia Jaworzno III, at the construction site for the third combustion gas sulphur removal line, the foundation act has been officially signed and set in the wall together with the foundation stone.
21August
The Supervisory Board of PKE closed the competition announced in July for the position of the Vice-President of Management Board – Capital Group Management Director. The selected candidate is Mr Marek Gralec.
14 September
PKE entered into an agreement with local government of Bielsko and Przedsiębiorstwo Komunalne Therma aimed at ensuring long-term security of heat supply to Bielsko-Biała.
16 September
The meeting of Supervisory Board of PKE was supposed to be held. However, after several hundred employees of the concern and Południowy Koncern Węglowy protested and one of the Board’s members submitted the relevant motion, questioning whether the meeting had been convened correctly, ultimately the meeting has not been held.
1 October
Mr Kazimierz Szynol started his work as the director of Elektrownia Łaziska. He replaced Mr Klemens Ścierski, who retired with the end of September.
3 October
Energetyka Południe has been presented at the Warsaw Stock Exchange. The company changed its name to Tauron Polska Energia.
13 November
Mr Filip Grzegorczyk resigned from chairing the Supervisory Board of PKE.
17 December
The Supervisory Board passed resolutions on dismissing two Vice-Presidents: Mr Piotr Pecka and Mr Igor Styn.
