2007.01.29

Actually, final montage works of boiler’s steel construction are performed. Boiler room’s flooring is also constructed. On advanced stage is also montage of near – boiler tanks for: coal, sorbent, returned secondary ash and bottom ash. Works connected with producing boiler’s pressure elements by individual manufacturers. In turbine part of the block, construction of wet chimney tower, 133 meters high, to which purified exhaust fumes from the fluidal combustion boiler are conveyed. Simultaneously, engine room’s main building’s steel skeleton’s (height – 38 meters) montage is being performed.

In the year 2006, the manufacturer of the turbine part commenced production of main turbine with generator, as well as other devices and installations.

Simultaneously, works on auxiliary devices and installations, as well as adaptive works on existing gears in Łagisza Power Plant.

First current from the new block would flow in December, 2008 (test flow). Unit will be forwarded for exploitation at 31st March 2009. Works are being performed from January 2006.

Investment in Łagisza is an element of Company’s strategy, concerning recovery of 2260 MW. Presently, it is one of the most important undertaking in Polish energetic sector, realized in aim of country’s production capacity recovery, as well as conformity with strict ecological norms, introduced by European Union.

Block in Będzin would be vested with power of 460 MW. Investments costs are about 500 millions Euro and would be financed from Company’s means, from ecological means and from debentures’ issue. Block in Łagisza Power Plant would incinerate annually about 1,2 millions tons of coal, as well as sludge and biomass. Because of high unit’s efficiency, emission of CO2 to the atmosphere would be 25 % lower than in the best production units in Poland. Simultaneously, as well for SO2 as for NOx, emission not higher than 200 mg – Nm3 would be assured, which is in conformity with European Union’s guidelines and Treaty of Accession.
